Clips itself
Clips are cut from the rolling buffer when the box lights up, so the attack that came before the light is in the clip. A referee can also capture a halt by hand.
Wireless video review for fencing
Reprise turns an iPad or a Mac beside the piste into a video review station. A small timer reads your scoring box and tells the app the moment a light goes on, so each touch is clipped before the referee reaches the table. No wifi needed.
In development. iPad, iPhone and Mac first; Windows to follow.
It connects to the data port on the back of your scoring box. It only listens. It never sends anything to the box.
The app finds the timer over Bluetooth and starts a rolling recording from the camera, so the seconds before every light are always kept.
Touches, halts, cards and passivity calls each become a clip, labelled with the lights, score and clock from the box.

Everything runs on the device. No account, no upload, no signal needed. Clips stay on the iPad or Mac until you choose to share them.
Lights, score, clock, period and cards are drawn onto exported clips, so a replay shared later still shows what the box said.
Step a frame at a time, slow down to 0.1×, loop and zoom. The app reports the camera’s real frame rate, so precision claims are honest.
Two video appeals per fencer, counted down on screen and swapped when the fencers change ends.
Export to Files or AirDrop today. Posting directly to YouTube and other video services is planned, always opt-in.
The hardware
A passivity timer and a video bridge in one small box. On its own it counts the non-combativity minute from the box’s own clock and turns blue at zero, in foil and épée. With the app, it streams the box’s lights, score, clock and cards to up to three devices at once.
For clubs and associations
Reprise is sold as a bundle: the app plus a timer for each piste you want covered. Use it for club nights, training, regional events and referee development. A whole venue can be set up without a network.
Pricing will be announced at launch. Register your interest and we’ll contact you first.
No. The timer talks to the app over Bluetooth and everything is stored on the device. A network is only needed if you later choose to post a clip online.
No. Reprise is a tool for clubs, training and events below the FIE circuit. It doesn’t replace homologated video refereeing systems, and the referee’s decision stands.
iPad and iPhone, and Mac. A Windows version is planned.
The device’s own camera works. For a full-piste view, a USB camera on a stand gives a wider, steadier picture.
Lean6 Technology, the team behind RefManager, the referee and tournament management platform used by Canadian fencing associations.
Tell us about your club or association. We’ll contact you when Reprise and the timer are ready, and earlier if you’d like to help test.
